Well what a day its been lashing it down with rain and a bit chilly to boot..kevs house starts to take shape with the first corner of the building being erected in the rain by the 3 wise monkeys me kev and gita.
No real local gossip and no updates on the car crash as yet but i have been working out side on kevs construction project all afternoon and didnt get up til lunch time so missed out on some things but quiet in general as i did move about.
Weather report: Wet cold cloudy and raining as opposed to hot and very sunny the day before who know what tommorow will bring?
Traffic Report: no news is good news
Other observations of the day: kevs question as to whether eating parsley gives you the trotts amused me, i have never heard of this but put his predicament down to other causes or food, incidently i always carry a spare change of clothes and some bog roll in the car in case of emergencies..and i have needed too use them all on several occasions so for first time in romania anti Trotts tabs are a great idea.. i dont normally get problems as often as when i first came here it is getting better still that is enough of that…off on a few days hols to a place just outside Cluj and then on to my friends house in Zalau Hopefully few a few days. been there before and its a nice area the aupesini mountains.

The roads here are not in the best of condition it has to be said but normally short journeys are pretty bearable. When it comes to what we would in uk class as c roads or dirt tracks then that is what i am talking about here in the mountains apart from the nice new road to muntlele mic.. recently did a journey to a place called Valiug nice location, but the road i used was a forest track road and all of it was well OFF road. my 4×4 made it no problems and the old dacias make it ok. i recently recovered a volkwagon Bora and the belgians mitsibishi had a similar fate both with cracked sumps. they are just not suited to the off road tracks. most of which are navigated by tractors and in the wet these make deep ruts hence the problems with the sumps getting rock damage.
so borlova 2 car sumps nil
Other borlova news
The return of Laura is imminent and long overwaited back from spain soon hoorah.
Akyms custom sirrocco blew a tyre in style in the main street one day i must get a picture put up of this car its been done like a monster truck but in this case its a monster car raised susspension (not Lowered like kevs) and 255×60x15 tyres on the back.this car goes off road no problems.
Weather: Dull and overcast most of today with a slight wind and lower temperatures still a bit muggy but cooler and slight drizzle overnight.
Sweetcorns ripe so its coming out of my ears at the moment a person can only eat so much corn on the cob. still it wont last long.
Traffic report: construction traffic moving about as early as 3.30am and returning from muntele mic at around 4.30pm tractors and trailers laden with gypsy construction labourers about 30 to a trailer. the guy putting the water to his house from the mains in true romanian style still hasnt finished the bit on the road. he is more concerned to finish inside his house first and let the rest of us compact the pile of muck out side his house and the hole half way across the road, not that i am complaining MUCH..Any road construction company directors reading this get over to romania now you can clean up there is so much work to be done.

I Have Noticed quite a few people searching about night clubs in Romania and especially Timisoara i saw there is a electro party somewhere near timisoara advertised with a line up including some UK DJ’s Seemed like a good crack unfortunatly left the info with some guests we had here so lost the dates but it is up and coming. If any one is searching for info or help on this front then me and Kev can probably help with sorting out some deals and Guides which will help no end if it is your first trip here. we had a promotion in mind and we are still working on it. but other things have side tracked the progress.
without a doubt romania has some unusual nightlife and style of partying…some of it very erotic…The Clubs in timisoara are mainly smaller than some big UK clubs But an outside Gig will get packed out this time of year.
Well cutting this short if you need help or information just post a reply

The residents i am sure wern’t expecting English tourists to be quite as adventurous and up for a laugh. They took a horse and cart ride over some hills Danced with the locals in the local bar and wandered around the streets chatting to all in sight. Thanks for a super time John and Pat and the Brown betty Tea Pot. they have Vowed to come again and i am sure they will return. We have The Swiss party next Week so its fondue all round then ….

ooh i said i wouldnt whinge like a true Brit, but even the Romanians are whinging about this extreme heat..local shops have all but sold out of water beer and juices…the local shop in borlova sold out of all meats today the fridge was full yesterday, perhaps it is the two ruga’s going on one in the next village and one on muntlele mic..
The high temperatures are forecast to last for a few more days yet.
still there is an upside i got to retreat to the local forests near the river and cool down did a spot of fishing.had my first can of baked beans in months provided kindly by kev we duely shared the joy of cooking them on a campfire and savouring every last drop of juice. unfortunatly i broke a tooth on a bit of bread of all things..so i will be reporting on romainan dentists soon and apparently they are very good and cheap too.
Borlova News in breif…little activity due to the heat but most of borlova is either on muntele mic or in turnu ruien at the ruga or carnivals borlova’s is the 15th of august. for the next few days we have some spanish tourists on Enduro bikes in the village guided by Fane a local tour guide. borlova gets quite international at times..also the shop does well with food sales especially when there are many coming here to cool down from the towns which are much hotter than here.people like to make a bar b que by the cool mountain streams and just chill and relax.
many old folk staying stuck like glue to the benches outside their houses and not working due to the heat.
traffic report: moving steady and a lot of it due to the ruga on the mountain..roads dry and very dusty i imagine tumble weed blowing past soon. new record set six people riding on a small mini tractor including one young child..
Weather: again hot high 40’s and humid 50% to 60%
Breaking news: mystery about missing cigarettes a lead is being followed concerning a suspicious dog named rita, highly suspected of stealing then to eat them more as it unfolds….

Feeling hot hot hot…still and no sign of a let up…officially so hot it made headline news all day..55c in the sun and in the shade 43 something i dont care about the actual temperature its just to hot to do any work or stay out in the sun for any length of time. ven in borlova news’s news room it is so hot i am almost in my birthday suit. i did have a large fan but some ingenious romanian has used the cable and plug for another applience or use leaving my fan with a 1 foot length of flex and no plug. great i have to do a similar trick now just got to find the right bit of kit to sabotage preferably not one i own or wish to use at any time.
Other news
Local youth faces extreme slapping after stealing one pack of ciggies and 2 lighters from me off my table out side my house whilst i was making a sandwich. not a bright move as i know who he was, curently persons have been dispatched to deal with the situation on my behalf. funny thing about living in a small village is no one is transparent..all is seen or heard. you cant even drop a sneaky stinky one here without someone knowing it was you.
slight water problem hit the lower village today and yesterday…mystery water shortage soon became apparent.. as idiot half way up village with JCB trying to connect house to the mains water gathers large angry crowd …..lessons in driving a digger were politely offered by many bystanders as the temeratures reached 50c in the sun.works are continuing into the night to resolve the problem..yet another gouge in the street to kill your suspension.
local tour guide gets accident damaged tour bus back on road in record time thanks to 2 english mechanics
at a very reasonable cost
all offers of more work like this accepted please post a message, travelling charged at 100 euros per hour..
Ruga in muntele mic hits us on friday saturday and sunday, thus
Traffic report: busy roads and one hole being dug across the main street great timing. avoid 9 to 10 pm when the cows come home..eye in the sky reports no major hold ups.
weather sunny hot and more sun predicted temperatures very hot in the mid to high 40’s all day even near the mountains which is normally 10c lower.

Phew What a Scorcher 3 days now its been 35c plus i think near 43c in the shade
well Borlova news has taken a back seat for a while
due to the influx of tourists and the Extreme Heat
we had Seth and Holly stay with us From Seattle USA They Were cycling around Europe
Heres Their Blog http://www.travelpod.com
and We also had A Group Of Israeli Mountain Bikers
followed Closely By Forest and His Group Of Enduro Bikers From Germany..Busy time all round.
Local news in an instant
not much happening due to hot weather the Romanian National Olympic sleeping team is getting a lot of practise and many in the village seem to be in training too
Kevs progress has been slow on the foundations front for his new house (although he has finished it today)
due to the mayor of the local town stopping movement of heavy loads due to the roads melting
in the heat…which would have squidged all the newly laid roads up..but i bet this has already happened.
trucks being banned from moving around in town after 11 am is hardly going to stop this effect.
New Bar opens and yes no surprise, its just like all other Romanian village bars ! hopefully in 2 weeks time I can drastically change that, with some input of some more modern ideas, and banning manele music and smashing bottles all the time.boy does that get my goat.
Traffic Report
not much news to report, the belgian couples car and caravan were recoverd today by a belgian company the guy managed to find borlova ok without sat nav.
the 9.00pm cow movements never fail to amaze me an orderly line (unusual in Romania) slowly making their way down the main street peeling off one by one into their respective houses.
Weather report: HOT HOT HOT Blue skies and a warm breeze
no let up during the night either still muggy and warm

The Belgian Couple and their young daughter are staying With a caravan in the back garden…they had a slight motoring mishap today
They were off roading in the mountain in a mitsibushi saloon car..and got a cracked sump from a rock..
they only just made it back here..thus they have relied on their comprehensive auto cover..and are having a replacement
car sent from timisoara..while theirs goes in for repair…great service from their insurance company.
The english Guy here, is with his Romanian Girlfriend. They are staying in the next village at her sisters house.
nice to see other English tourists coming here,to appreciate the place and the sights.
Weather: today overcast and drizzle temperatures down to 23c
Traffic Report: not much to report, except the Belgian incident, and more English cars here than the locals can understand right now
all good for business though.
