Well no surprise theres another holiday in romania, never a dull moment here as far as holidays goes this is the place for them, another good reason to party all day, tommorow is the day of St George and everyone called george or who has a name similar to george will be celebrating as it is considered the birthday of the name here, so if you are george its your birthday in the morning, you can party all you like all day. And not surprisingly no one works on this day either.

Well not exactly borlova news headlines but the rates of pay in romania are not the same as the rest of the world not groundbreaking inteligence required to work that one out, i have just calculated my hourly rate for the last 3 weeks to £2.33 per hour less than the minimum in the UK but a damn sight more than most romanians earn in an hour here, with 30 RON being an average wage and i stand to be corrected per day thats about £6 per day, perhaps this might open the eyes of people who cant understand why romanians want to work outside romania. It is only for the money, I must say though i think the rates of pay here are creeping up a bit due to supply and demand, especially in construction work. the rate for plaster boarding not plastering is about £4.00 per M2 not bad considering the time it takes me, however some romanians would last it out a bit, in my humble opinion this is because they are so used to being paid by the day, and not on peace work or price work. the price for wiring up a six room extension did surprise me though its so cheap here to find a sparks, but quality of the job mmm i dont know, from what i have had experience of the sparks are good and know what they are doing but they have to work with some real crap quality fittings and cable. any way enough of my moan onto BORLOVA NEWS HEADLINES
Eighteenth birthday celebrations last 2 days and still going
visible by the group from last night walking down the steet proclaiming how such good friends they were at the top of their voices, normal practise here, useual to see this on a saturday night in any major town in the uk not mid afternoon in a small village.
Boom Boxes becoming a fad for the summer
200 euro dacia falling to bits only held together by the cables supplying the juice to the 400 euro state of the art sound system and bass bins, seems to be the thing to have right now, romanians like to show they have wealth and now it seems they want you to hear they have it to.
weather: nice day from what i saw of it tempratures warm ish around 20 to 24 c sun shine and broken cloud dry and fine bit colder at night cardy required

The village shop tonight was in a state of flux as it is doubling in size, a team of shop fitters, (the owner and some mates) were busy knocking out a wall and making good, perhaps this will be the start of borlovas first minimarket (hyper market)?

Village store goes down in estimation as now tea famine is imminent, typhoo tea 3 bags left, and one box of lancaster tea ceylon assam blend left bought from plus in caransebes, to be fair i didnt expect the shop to stock typhoo or pg tips. Blacktea or Chi Negru is not so commonly drunk here if one orders a tea any where it is always a fruit tea of some description travelers beware. always carry emergency ration of english tea bags,if yoy are a tea addict. the black market for tea is hard to penetrate. i have my supplier, monkey molone, but he doesnt come cheap at a bannanna a bag.

FROG IN A DITCH Blocks Road
Its True The French Cant Drive very well in Romania for sure, today three minibusses full to the brim with french tourists arrived in the next village(phew), apparently an annual pilgramage, obviously tired from the long journey from france they were so keen to get the luggage off loadedand take advantage of the very hot weather here today the driver of the luggage bus switly reversed into a 0.75m deep concrete drainage ditch which left the back wheels floating in mid air and the chasis of the bus firmly stuck to the edge of the ditch. Completely blocking the road, this enevitbly drew a very large crowd to the scence of chaos, with french and romanian temperaments running at full volume, much discussion and panick and total disorganisation follwed, for 20 mins eventualy some clever romanians brought some large poles and some big blocks of wood and procceded to lever the truck out of the ditch, your intrepid reporter was one of the first on the scence to witness this major disaster, reporting news as it happens story by Steve
